9023 E Offset Round Die (5.6 to 26.8mm) The best quality tooling sourced from European and local punch and die manufacturers in Australia using high-grade tool steels. All tooling is manufactured from top quality D2 tool steel – especially heat treated in a vacuum furnace for a long and productive working life on a wide variety of metals including stainless steel. In theory the die clearance should be 10% of the material thickness being punched. A 10% clearance is ideally suited for sheet metal thicknesses on turret punching machines, but less favorable for thicker material. When using 10% clearance on thicker material you might experience an excessive amount of machine vibrations “heavy banging or shaking when punching through the material”. This is why we do recommend below clearances being used. Material thickness up to 4mm: 0.2 – 0.4mm Material thickness 5 to 12mm: 0.8mm Material thickness 12 to 20mm: 1.2mm Material thickness 20 to 25mm: 1.6mm As an example, if you are to punch in 10mm mild steel, we do recommend a die of 10.8mm (10mm die + 0.8mm clearance) Please note:
